Alhambra andaluciaMost visitors make for Granada and the Alhambra Palace which is stunning, but please be aware that as this is now listed for the revised Wonders of the World, booking is almost certainly required agents speak most EU languages.

Cordoba with its mighty Mezquita Cathedral & Mosque, west of the City is Alcazar Gardens & Medina Azahara all approx 1 and a half hours away.

Seville approx 2 hours away the cultural heart of Andalucia with its imposing Cathedral, Giralda Tower, Real Alcazar & Plaza de Espana with the new La Isla Magica with lots of white knuckle rides for kids of all ages.

Alcazaba Málaga Spain

Malaga is about an hour away with the old Moorish Fortress known as the Alcazaba where you can walk the ramparts and view the walled gardens. The recently opened Picasso Museum is also a must for all art lovers
More locally situated is the home of local artist and sculptor Berrocal and an exhibition of his works can be seen in nearby Villanueva de Algaidas.

The large local town of Antequera is a short car ride away and combines a modern vibrant town within the walls of an old City, complete with a Bullring, and is one of the towns visited by the 19th. Century writer and traveler Washington Irving. The town is also famous for the prehistoric Dolmen caves dating back to 2500 BC, all within 30 minutes by car.

Amongst the other attractions are a Donkey Sanctuary where you may even adopt one of the inmates, quad biking, go karting circuit, Skiing on the Sierra Nevada, horse riding.

Golf inland Spain

Golfing is available just outside Antequera with an interesting course set amidst mountains.

Fishing in Spain

There is great fishing on Iznajar lake, permits equipment and guides available. There is also a safe swimming beach and some limited, non motorised, sports are available during peak season such as windsurfing and canoeing.

El Chorro Gorge

El Chorro with its nearby reservoir lie further South West of Antequera, this gorge is an immense 5km long cleft in a vast lime stone massif with a narrow catwalk built for the King of Spain, running its length now popular with climbers and abseilers. El Chorro Gorge Spain

The Costa del Sol

If you fancy a day trip to the coast the Costa del Sol offers a wide choice of sandy beaches to the East & West of Malaga. Nerja is one of the nicest resorts with pleasant beaches and famous caves nearby. Go West and try Puerto Cabopino.
A Wolf Park south of Antequera is also worth an evening BBQ visit to hear the “choir” sing (howl)
